Kyra M. Sedgwick (born Kyra Minturn) is a famous American actress and television personality. She's well known around all over the world, and especially in America as she played the principal role in the film 'The Closer. Sedgwick was a fan of acting, art and Broadway when she was just twelve years old. Sedgwick was introduced to Broadway through her mother who was an avid Broadway fanatic. At the age of 16 that Sedgwick got her first professional acting role on the show "Another World". Sedgwick went on to play minor roles on TV, but it was her dream of becoming a big actor that enticed her. In the film "Born during the 4th of July", in which Tom Cruise also starred, Sedgwick was noticed for the first time in a large screen. The television show "Lemon Sky", she met Kevin Bacon, an actor. They were married when she was 22. Sedgwick's effortless performance in The Closer, a seven-season show" brought her many awards which included an Emmy and a Golden Globe.
